What started out as an idea over lunch at Macy*s has become a fully formed resident community orchestra that is comprised of accomplished and engaged senior citizens, making classical music available to a wide audience through free concerts, and enriching New York City's cultural life.

Auditions will be held September 26, 2020 at Patriot High School. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible to audition for Senior Regional Orchestra. Auditions consist of scales in 3 octaves (2 octaves for bass), orchestral excerpts, and sight reading. Please read the "Preliminary Audition Info" for more on required scales.
Students enrolled in this class must be enrolled in the Symphony Orchestra and are highly encouraged to audition for the Senior Regional Orchestra or Senior District Orchestra and take private lessons (though not required). This is a highly competitive orchestra and requires a high level of commitment.
